Dave began refining his technical skills in the navy in October 1977 and left in December 2000 as Chief Petty Officer Marine Engineer. In 1997 Dave started his new career as a mobile mechanic in the Gosport area. In 2000 Dave finished his work as a mobile mechanic and opened Dave Coles Garage Gosport. Now the garage has a trusted team of 6, 3 workshops, and 3 offices. Customers from the mobile mechanic days are still coming to Dave’s garage today. Along with his passion for the automotive industry, Dave also enjoys camping and is a keen Formula One fan.

• ATA Certified in Refrigerant Handling – Air Conditioning

Kim has been with the garage from the very beginning. After working in the reception for 18 years Kim has developed a good understanding of the automotive industry, also serving as the first aider in the workplace. Kim and her dog Lizzie are known to be the life of the garage and keep a positive atmosphere!

Paul joined the team in February 2001 and carried out his apprenticeship working for Dave. He naturally progressed to the role of the garage’s diagnostic technician and manager with 20 years of experience. He continues to teach the rest of the team what he has learnt from Bosch ATA diagnostic training. However having the most training in the team hasn’t stopped Paul from wanting to improve his knowledge wherever possible, with ongoing training and mastering new equipment like the Picoscope. Outside of work, Paul is a devoted football and gaming fan.

Shane started and completed his apprenticeship working for Dave. His mechanical skills are invaluable, always working with great efficiency and precision. Shane has Level 3 and air-con qualifications and is our primary MOT tester. His passion for motor vehicles runs through to his life outside of work where he prepares cars to race. And if that wasn’t enough Shane is a wonderful family man at home.

Emma joined the team in 2013 and started her apprenticeship the same year, which she completed in 2016. She has shown a passion for the electrical/diagnostic areas in motor vehicles. Emma has been nominated twice for Fareham College’s apprentice of the year award and won in 2015. Outside of work Emma enjoys camping on her weekends off and reading.

When Matt was a full-time student at Fareham College he started working for Dave Coles Garage once a week for his work placement. Once Matt finished his second year at college we could see a spark and professionalism in his work. Dave gave him a full-time traineeship position and after 6 months he proved himself and is now a Level 3 apprentice at the garage. Matt is now constantly progressing and has surpassed his level three status. Outside of work, Matt is a dedicated gamer, an interest he shares with colleagues.

Kyle is the newest apprentice here at Dave Coles Garage Gosport. Starting full time with us in January he has been changing tyres, brakes and servicing in which he has shown great potential and enthusiasm. Kyle is the younger brother of our senior technician Shane, and just like him he also enjoys preparing cars to race outside of work. We are excited to be sending him to CEMAST later this year to start his theory training. Welcome to the team Kyle.

Around a year ago we added the newest member of our team, Lizzie! A little on the shy side but we’re working on her customer service skills. She is only 4 after all, but we have high hopes for this one!
